“We Are Descendants of Emperor Ashoka: Maurya, Shakya, Saini, Kushwaha, Kurmi, Lodhi, Prajapati, Nishad – We Are All Brothers, Says Babu Singh”
Gwalior. In the lead-up to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, the entry of Babu Singh Kushwaha has sent shockwaves through both the Congress and the BJP, signaling the potential for a significant political shift. The two-day National Convention of the Jan Adhikar Party in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has ignited discussions about the role of Dalit and OBC reservation in the state’s elections.
Babu Singh Kushwaha’s Agenda:
Babu Singh Kushwaha has brought the agenda of OBC reservation to the forefront of the Madhya Pradesh elections. Despite existing reservations, which currently stand at only 14% for the OBC, the issue remains inadequately addressed. Kushwaha’s proposition to implement a substantial 36% reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) has the potential to reshape the state’s political landscape.
A Stronghold in the Marginalized Communities:
Kushwaha’s influence extends deep into marginalized communities, particularly in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh. With a strong background in obc’s politics and a keen understanding of the issues facing these communities, he could make a significant impact on the electoral landscape.
The Fight for Reservations:
Kushwaha’s party, the Jan Adhikar Party, is actively campaigning on the reservation issue in all of Madhya Pradesh’s constituencies. His rallying cry, “The more significant the numbers, the greater the share,” has galvanized the fight for the rights of Dalits and OBCs, echoing the vision of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Manyavar Kanshi Ram.
A Political Revolution in the Making:
Madhya Pradesh currently witnesses a political duopoly between the BJP and the Congress, with no prominent regional players. However, the Jan Adhikar Party’s active engagement in the state could potentially lead to a political revolution. The party’s recent National Convention held in Gwalior is a significant entry into the state’s political arena.
Challenges to the Status Quo:
The prevailing political climate in Madhya Pradesh has raised concerns within both the BJP and Congress regarding their stance on the rights of Dalits, OBC and marginalized communities. Babu Singh Kushwaha’s presence in the state’s politics could disrupt the traditional voting patterns and alliances.
Support from Key Leaders:
Babu Singh Kushwaha boasts connections with influential leaders from both the BJP and Congress, who are expected to lend their support to his electoral campaign. This support could sway the balance of power in the upcoming elections.
A Vision for Empowerment:
Kushwaha’s party has made it clear that it will contest the elections with a strong focus on securing reservations for marginalized communities. His vision is to fulfill the dreams of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram, who championed the cause of reservation for the oppressed.
The Call to Action:
During the National Convention, Babu Singh Kushwaha appealed to the people of Madhya Pradesh to support the Jan Adhikar Party and vote for their cause. Despite 74 years of independence, the state has yet to fully implement the constitutional provisions for reservations, and Kushwaha is determined to change this.
Over 5,000 Elected Representatives Participate in Convention
The Convention of the Jan Adhikar Party witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 5,000 elected representatives from across the country, notably from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, actively participating in the event.
Babu Singh Kushwaha’s party has organized the National Convention with an eye on bringing about a substantial change in the Madhya Pradesh elections. In a large region of Madhya Pradesh, including Bundelkhand, the Kushwaha (also known Shakya, Saini and Maurya) and obc’s community holds significant sway in terms of population. Babu Singh Kushwaha has a strong foothold among the marginalized communities, and his assertiveness adds weight to their cause. He believes that he can secure a 36% reservation for the backward classes, a dream they have been denied for too long, and he is urging the people of Madhya Pradesh to support the Jan Adhikar Party
During this particular session, Dr. Santosh Singh lodhi, a former candidate in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, stated that Babu Singh Kushwaha had collaborated with the venerable Kanshi Ram. He emphasized their collective struggle for the rights of the Dalits,Obc, and marginalized communities. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar initiated the fight for reservation, which was further advanced by Kanshi Ram, and now Babu Singh Kushwaha is carrying it forward in the present day. He views them as the torchbearers of this cause.
Dr. Santosh Singh expressed confidence that one day, Babu Singh Kushwaha will secure a 36 percent reservation for the backward classes in Madhya Pradesh, addressing the concerns of the marginalized. She has urged the people of Madhya Pradesh to support the Jan Adhikar Party by casting their votes in its favor. Dr. Singh has made an appeal for “One Nation, One Education,” emphasizing the need for a unified education system.
During this special session, various speakers criticized the present and past governments, highlighting the challenges faced by the marginalized communities. Prominent figures such as Shrilal Baghel, Pappu Lal Shakya, Upendra Kushwaha, Jashwant Kushwaha, Sushma Maurya, Pratap Patel, Kedar Patel, and Leeladhar Kushwaha addressed the gathering, emphasizing the urgency of the reservation issue and the need for change.

The state’s political landscape may undergo a transformation, challenging the traditional dominance of the BJP and Congress. The upcoming elections promise to be a crucial battleground for the cause of Dalit and OBC reservations, echoing the vision of social justice champions like B.R. Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram.
